"What Causes Irritable Bowel Syndrome? -
Bacteria And Little Critters!"
What Causes Irritable Bowel Syndrome?
In my previous article, "What Causes Irritable Bowel Syndrome - Finding Out Is The First Step
Toward Healing!" I covered many possible causes of IBS; in this one I want to cover the
two most probable and obvious
causes.
So right off the bat, let me tell you what they
are:
<> Infection caused by
bacteria.
<> Infection caused by
parasites.
I feel strongly that infection from one of these two sources is the culprit (or at least
the main one) that causes these IBS miseries. I can say this because of the evidence found in
research on this disease and because in the process of trying to get to the bottom of my digestive
system problems, my doctor found
parasites.
By the way, this doctor was not my regular doctor, but one I had to travel around 90
miles to get to. I went to him because I had heard that he took a much more advanced approach to
medicine than most doctors.

How Infections Cause
IBS!
Okay, now that we know what causes irritable bowel
syndrome, let's find out how bacteria and these little critters (parasites) do
it
.
Acute (I don't think they're so cute) digestive system infections can play havoc with your
stomach's nervous system. They do this by causing inflammation of the mucus membrane in the
intestines. As a result, the immune cells infiltrate the intestinal lining and irritate the life
out of the nervous
system.
The result is damaged nerves in the gut that causes the nervous system to malfunction, thus
irritating the bowels. Then, to make matters worse, after the infection is gone, the
inflammation sticks around and continues to irritate those
nerves.
Another problem that occurs with IBS is that the bacteria that usually hangs out in the large
intestine migrates to the small intestine and munches on the rich supply of undigested food found
there. That's where their numbers grow and cause more digestive
problems.
Do not fret, there is a solution to all these problems.

Some Solutions To The Above
Problems
!
I don't want to leave you with just knowing what causes irritable bowel syndrome, I also want to
give you some things you can do right away to help resolve the above problems caused by digestive
track infections.
Solution #1: Take probiotics (good bacteria) daily to combat the bad bacterium
that is living in your intestines and is causing havoc. I have been taking Primadophilus
for years, and it is a great help.
Solution #2: Chew your food well. Gobbling down your food is making a lot of
unfriendly bacteria happy. That poorly chewed food means poor digestion, which means undigested
food for your unfriendly bacteria.
So launch a two-sided attack on that unfriendly bacteria that will help balance out the
bacteria in your intestines and help calm that IBS.
Solution
#3: If you haven't already done so, have your doctor do a test for parasites. If you have
them, you will have to take medication to get rid of them and then be tested again to be sure they
are gone.
And allow
me to throw in one precaution. When traveling abroad, especially south of
the American boarder, "Don't drink the water!" As a matter of fact, don't even brush your
teeth with it, don't eat fruit without washing it with pure water, and avoid street venders
who may be using their water in the food they make.
Doing this
will save you a lot of trips to the bathroom (ever heard of Montezuma's revenge). The water can
carry a lot of bacterium and parasites. So tread with
caution!
